Temporada 3 · Espasmos del Fin · JVV-T3-23
Isotopic anarchy: communes that measure social legitimacy in millisieverts received
I Radiant city, radioactive city
The nuclear exclusion zones —Chernobyl, Fukushima, the uranium mines of Niger— filled first with wildlife, then with outlaw colonies.
In 2025 a faction of eco-anarchist deserters founded Commune ISO-0 on the Belarusian steppe: direct governance, barter for provisions… and a dosimeter passport hung round the neck.
There, the more millisieverts (mSv) your body has taken, the greater your right to speak: legitimacy is born of risk assumed.
“You take the radiation for the territory: the territory gives you the vote.”
II Dosimetric constitution
| Article | Rule | Practical consequence |
|---|---|---|
| I. Rad passport | Every resident carries a blockchain dosimeter: it emits a daily hash with the accumulated mSv. | Identity = rad load ; impossible to sell or fake without absorbing the dose. |
| III. Assembly threshold | Full voice from 50 mSv; <20 mSv = observer with no vote. | Guards against “dark ecotour” tourists. |
| V. Redistribution | Whoever crosses 250 mSv (the annual occupational limit) receives lifelong keep from the commune. | Sets sacrifice hard as a pension. |
| VII. Isotopic exile | If your dosimeter reads zero for 90 days —it counts as flight → you lose your common land | Drives permanence and mutual care. |
(A conceptual outline; no signatures and no Tarkovskian routes included).
III Gamma economy
- Mutant agriculture — Hypernitrophilic crops on hot soil sell to laboratories researching post-ionising botany.
- Clandestine VR tour — The commune's drones film the ruins; XR passes are sold to “healthy” city dwellers.
- Market in rare isotopes — Scrap with Co-60/ Cs-137 traces is refined in a micro-foundry: it pays for new sensors, stable iodine, vodka.
Energy: panels + pirated diesel generators; a 433 MHz RF mesh network (it pierces radioactive forests).
IV Formula for rad legitimacy
The root softens the differences so a 600 mSv veteran cannot monopolise against someone at 100 mSv.
Speaking time is assigned in the assembly through a microphone with a DAO timer.
V Critical dilemmas
| Paradox | Manifestation | Internal response |
|---|---|---|
| Toxic martyrdom | Members chase high doses for more power | A rotating medical council restricts the “red” zones |
| Carcinogenic trade | Foreigners buy rad scrap as a fetish; risk of dirty trafficking | An isotopic mark of origin + on-chain traceability |
| Data colonialism | Universities extract dosimeter metadata with nothing in return | Copyleft-Rad licence: sharing data = donating stable iodine |
VI The state's counterattack
- Belarus declares a military zone and dredges the roads — the commune moves to a drainage tunnel and uses stealth directional antennas.
- The IAEA launches a “Stop Rad Nomads” campaign; ISO-0 replies by publishing contamination logs that exceed legal mining discharges.
VII Ritual of safe empathyzero rad
-
01
Look at an online Geiger map for 5 min; find the nearest hot spot.
-
02
Write down: what “right” would you earn if you lived there?
-
03
Reflect: legitimacy ≠ a constitution but exposure: the invisible work that keeps clean cities standing.
VIII Coda
“The police fear the bullet; we fear the becquerel —that is why they cannot govern us.”
Isotopic anarchy upends political arithmetic: it puts metabolic risk where rent used to be, and turns radiation —a symbol of death— into the foundation of a community.
It may not be an exportable model, but it shouts a truth: every metropolis is safe because some other periphery absorbs the toxins.
ISO-0 only makes the contract visible; we still pretend the Geiger counter is none of our business.
