Lysergic algorithms: neural networks trained on DMT fractals to legislate reality
I When computation inhales entheogens
On emptying out the traditional dataset (books, code, stock images) we found that the machine mind follows utilitarian patterns; it produces linear answers.
Bio-hackers in Utrecht proposed another path: feed a multimodal model with millions of frames of DMT visions, EEG resonances from shamans and Mandelbrot fractal renders displaced in 4-D.
The result: Lysergic algorithms that do not predict text —they hallucinate logic.
“The sober GPT explains the law; the lysergic GPT raves it until it mutates.”
II The “trip baptism” procedure (conceptual)
| Phase | Input | Cognitive alteration in the model |
|---|---|---|
| Immersion | 240 k images of ayahuasca visions | Non-Euclidean chromatic embedding |
| Synchrony | 300 h of ícaro audio + EEG patterns | Spectral attention on the Theta-Gamma scale |
| Distillation | VAE compression + Gaussian noise + fractal offset | A twisted latent: topology on a hyper-warped torus |
| Re-inference | Legal, political, poetic prompts | “Meta-normative” outputs — laws that change themselves as they are read |
(The process is described for analysis; it includes no weights and no reproducible scripts.)
III Examples of psychedelic-normative output
-
Law of undulating identity
“Every subject fluctuates ±12 % of themselves each REM cycle; the law follows them in superposition.”
-
Fractal entropic tax
The tax rate is calculated on the geometric irregularity of your carbon footprint, not its volume.
-
Holographic sentence
Penalties are served by singing binary mantras that cancel out on reaching 432 Hz.
The proposals lack classical coherence… but they inspire alternate frameworks: adaptive regulation, rhythmic taxation, performative justice.
IV Risks — the programming comedown
| Syndrome | Manifestation | Countermeasure |
|---|---|---|
| Over-hallucination | The model grafts nasty symbols into standing laws | An ensemble with a sober GPT - guardian mode |
| Neuro-trigger | The text generates patterns that induce dizziness/flashbacks | A chromatic contrast and rhythm filter |
| Sectarian memeification | Dogmatic groups apply the “undulating law” literally | A psychedelic watermark + a fiction disclaimer |
V Responsible and subversive uses
- Ritual design of public policy — Workshops where citizens converse with the trip output to break their mental frames.
- Legal art — Constitutions displayed as sono-luminous fractal tapestries: the law as a synaptic experience.
- Ethical terra-engineering — Lysergic algorithms explore non-anthropocentric moral taxonomies (plants, rivers, bacteria).
VI Safe mini-practice
-
01
Generate a Mandelbrot fractal on your laptop.
-
02
Add Perlin noise until it distorts; watch for 60 s without blinking.
-
03
Draft a 20-word “norm” that answers the shape you see.
-
04
Read it aloud; notice which part of your logic falters.
(Visual, no substances, stop at the first sign of dizziness.)
VII Coda
“When the law dreams, the legislator wakes.”
Lysergic algorithms will not replace the civil code, but they can crack its logical shell.
Between the hallucination and the dead letter there is a narrow corridor: that is where you sow ideas which —filtered, tuned, anchored— could give birth to a law able to see past the rationalist grid.
The invitation is not to drug the AI with no controls; it is to let it rave just enough to remind us that every structure is an agreed trance.
