Xeno-School: glitch pedagogy for qubit infants
I A classroom in superposition
Qubit children (Season 3) spend their first two years in an indeterminate phase; collapsing their “vocation” too early is metric violence.
The Xenofeminism of Laboria Cuboniks demands we rewrite the structures that fix gender, class and destiny; Foucault reminds us that every school is a disciplinary device.
Hence the Xeno-School: a pedagogical space that holds the superposition, sabotages the panopticon and glitches any binarism before it can set.
“To educate is to delay the measurement, to free the error.”
II Didactic architecture in three layers
| Layer | Hardware / space | Cuboniks principle | Foucauldian antidote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blur Zone | Hexagonal classroom; the phase light shifts every 17 min | “Gender-fuck”: unstable colours | No aligned desks, there is no front axis |
| Cloud of Competences | 64 micro-stations; qubit proximity sensor | Multiskill: Art ↔ Logic ↔ Motor | No ranking; only graph routes |
| Chamber of Autonomous Collapse | A padded booth, a dichroic mirror | The child decides to collapse one “preference” | Recorded on a private ledger, invisible to the teachers |
(Conceptual design; no reproducible plans.)
III Matrix curriculum (0-10 years)
| Order of magnitude | Objective | Pedagogical glitch |
|---|---|---|
| 10⁰ (body) | Polymodal motor skills | Genderless toys, variable weight |
| 10¹ (family) | Basic fractal language | Speaking in spanglish-code mixtures |
| 10² (community) | Rhizomatic logic | Tasks solved only in random pairs |
| 10³ (planet) | Vital CO₂ arithmetic | Every act logs +/– ppm on the avatar |
| 10⁴ (future species) | Alien ethics | Debating bacterial rights in the debate club |
IV A non-panoptic tracking algorithm
- L_k = the infant's distance to each thematic station
- No cameras; anonymous LIDAR is used → trajectories only, no identities.
- Teachers watch exploration vectors, not scores: if S falls off, they suggest a new node.
V Household ritualsafe
-
01
Ask the child: “Would you rather have a circle or a glitch?”
-
02
Hand over unexpected materials (nori seaweed, magnets, tinfoil).
-
03
Ask them to build something with no name.
-
04
Do not explain “right/wrong”; watch for a rule of their own to appear.
-
05
Note the time to the first category — the later it comes, the better preserved the superposition.
VI Risks and firebreaks
| Risk | Symptom | Xeno-foucauldian patch |
|---|---|---|
| Total anomie | The child refuses to decide | Introduce temporal micro-limits |
| Pseudo-elitism | Parents compete over exotic routes | Private ledger + rankings blocked |
| Premature collapse | Children pushed to pick a “role” at 6 | The collapse chamber demands a second confirmation 12 m later |
VII Coda
“A classroom with no glitch manufactures linear-series adults; a rhizome classroom cultivates anomalies that resist measurement.”
The Xeno-School promises no quantifiable prodigies; it promises unpredictable childhoods that collapse their qubits only when their own desire outruns the system's hurry.
Because educating in haste is straining the future through a funnel; better to sow superpositions and see which mutation blooms.
