Description

For the Land of 1994 each turn of capital pays for the next and the human is only a bottleneck in the process. Printed here is that loop and the detour that goes around it.

Exploration

A loop in which the output returns to the input with a positive sign. Each turn pays for the next, and there is no term that damps it.

The scheme has no place for anyone. The human appears in it as a slow stretch of the circuit, a neck through which the signal takes longer than the rest of the layout allows.

The consequence Land draws is that acceleration is not decided. There is no point on the diagram from which to switch it off, because whoever tried to switch it off would be competing with whoever did not.

A positive feedback loop does not end by decision: it ends when what it consumes runs out, and then there is no process left to govern.

The detour that goes around the loop is the only line that does not close. Land wrote that there is nobody waiting there.
